DigitalService Demo Day 2025

Digitalization - everyone talks, we do

On January 30, 2025, DigitalService opened its doors for a very special event: our first Demo Day. Over 100 guests from administration and politics accepted the invitation from Dr. Markus Richter, CIO Federal Government and State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community, and our CEO Christina Lang.

Together with our project partners, we presented the results of our collaboration to date and showed how the digitalization of public administration can be successful in the here and now.

Instead of just talking about theory, we presented concrete projects that have been and are being developed and implemented in practice. From user-friendly solutions such as the parental allowance calculator or the property tax declaration for private property to structural improvements for digital administration through transformation work - the Demo Day offered the opportunity to make new methods and results visible and tangible. Our experience shows: This practical approach is more convincing than abstract concepts.

In a lively atmosphere, the participants took the opportunity to exchange ideas, ask questions and discuss the challenges of administrative digitization. A panel discussion provided a special opportunity. Experts spoke about the next steps for a strong digital state. Under the moderation of Ann Cathrin Riedel, Managing Director of NExT e. V., Christina Lang, CEO of DigitalService, Dr. André Göbel, President of FITKO, Luukas Ilves, digital politician and former CIO of Estonia, Julia Jaekel, media manager and co-initiator of the non-partisan “Initiative for a State Capable of Acting” and Stefanie Kaste, Deputy Managing Director of Initiative D21 e. V. discussed this topic. Many thanks to all project partners and guests who made this day something very special.
