Thomas Jarzombek, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Digital Transformation and Government Modernization and Chair of DigitalService’s Supervisory Board

We wish Christina Rieke Lang all the best for her maternity leave. We would also like to thank Anja Theurer for her dedication over the past years. We are delighted to welcome Marcus W. Mosen to DigitalService as an experienced transformation leader. Together with Magdalena Zadara, he will ensure continuity while helping shape the company’s strategic direction and positioning.

Marcus W. Mosen brings extensive leadership and transformation experience from technology-driven and highly regulated industries. He has helped shape the payments, fintech, and banking sectors over many years, including as CEO of Concardis and, most recently, as interim CEO of N26. At DigitalService, he will draw on this experience to help shape the company’s future development and further define its role in the federal government’s digitalization efforts, working alongside Magdalena Zadara.

The focus will be on continuing ongoing projects and further strengthening DigitalService’s strategic role in the federal government’s digitalization agenda. As the roles and interactions of the various stakeholders involved in digitalizing public administration continue to evolve, the Executive Team aims to ensure continuity, strengthen DigitalService’s ability to deliver, and advance the organization’s development.

Marcus W. Mosen

I am very much looking forward to working with Magdalena and the entire team. DigitalService brings together deep expertise in products, technology, and implementation, laying important foundations for the continued digitalization of government and delivering practical solutions. After many years in payments, fintech, and banking, I am particularly excited to bring my experience to the intersection of technology, business, and the public sector and to help shape DigitalService’s future development together with the team.

Magdalena Zadara, COO at DigitalService

Together with Marcus, I will take responsibility for ensuring continuity in our ongoing projects while driving DigitalService’s further development. We can build on a strong team and extensive experience in developing user-centered digital solutions for public administration.

Magdalena Zadara was appointed Managing Director effective October 28, 2026. Marcus W. Mosen will take up his position in Berlin on November 16, 2026.

About DigitalService

As the digitalization partner for public administration, DigitalService has set itself the goal of sustainably advancing the digital transformation of Germany. The aim is to make user-centered digital services the standard in public administration.

To achieve this, DigitalService works closely with the federal government to develop and operate innovative digital solutions through interdisciplinary teams while establishing the necessary foundations. Even before DigitalService was founded, the Tech4Germany and Work4Germany fellowship programs brought technical and methodological expertise to the administration, helping to bring the benefits of new working methods to life and improve the implementation of digitalization projects.

DigitalService was established in October 2020 as a federally owned limited liability company and is wholly owned by the federal government. It emerged from the non-profit start-up 4Germany, which was founded in 2019.
