Half-time for submitting property tax returns: preparations for the big wave

Since the beginning of July, our free online service “Property tax return for private property”, developed jointly with the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF), has been available to citizens. With just a few necessary details, property tax declarations for detached and semi-detached houses, condominiums and undeveloped land can be submitted. Right from the start, we recorded high access figures, a steadily increasing number of submitted declarations and positive media coverage. Overall, we are very satisfied with the first half of the submission period. Nevertheless, we still see room for improvement. On the one hand, the number of declarations submitted is still relatively low – we are preparing for the expected large wave of submissions at the end of the submission period. On the other hand, the scope of our service. In addition to the recent integration of the ELSTER account as an additional identification option, we are working on further new functions and improvements. Our aim, even in the advanced product cycle, is to expand the scope of services step by step and increase our target group, as well as to further optimize user-friendliness through our iterative approach.
